Trip Out West

Two weeks ago we spent a long weekend out west.  We hadn't been out there since October and Claire had a surprise waiting on her.  Mimi and Papaw had bought a swing set at Christmas time, and this was her first time to see it.  Needless to say - she LOVED it!  Here are a few pictures from our trip...

Sleep Training...

Last night Russ and I decided that it was high time Mr. Luke start sleep training...

He turned two months old yesterday and is well over 12 pounds; so he shouldn't still be waking up every 2 1/2 hours to eat. He will sleep great in your arms, on your chest, anywere but his crib. So this morning, I started putting him down for his nap sleepy, but awake...

After 30 mins of crying, he slept for 20 mins... and the same for the next nap. He is currently taking another nap, and there was no crying. Hooray! One small step...

Wish us luck - we'll need it! :)

Thank heaven for smiles!

I think God had a plan when he gave baby's the ability to smile...
All of the books I have read say that babies are not able to smile till they are 6 weeks old or older. This is also the age when their fussiness reaches it's peak. Well Mr. Luke is no exception! He has been on feeding frenzy these days.. wanting to eat every 2 hours. It has been really exhausting on Russ and myself.

But just when you think you have reached your breaking point - your little baby smiles!

It's greatness!!

With that said... thank heaven for smiles :)
